Terms of Service
Last updated: 21 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and the team that operates OneRoof ("OneRoof", "we", "us") for your use of the OneRoof mobile app and website. By creating an account or using OneRoof, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use it.
Please also read our Privacy Policy, which explains how personal data is handled.
1. What OneRoof is
OneRoof is a coordination tool for residential communities. Each society or association has its own space inside the app where residents and officers share notices, hold discussions, raise complaints, log visitors, chat and track payments. OneRoof provides the platform. The society and its members decide how they use it.
2. Who may use it
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement.
- You need a mobile number you control. We verify it with a one-time code.
- Give accurate information. Do not pretend to be someone else or claim a home or a role you do not hold.
- Joining a society is subject to approval by that society. An association may remove a member or refuse a request.
3. Your account
You are responsible for what happens on your account and for keeping your phone secure. Tell us at once if you think someone else is using your account. You can delete your account at any time from Settings, then Account.
4. How to behave
Discussions, comments, chat and complaints are shared with neighbours. Do not use them to:
- harass, threaten, defame, or discriminate against anyone, including on grounds of religion, caste, gender, community or origin;
- post anything unlawful, obscene, or that violates someone's privacy, including photos of people who have not agreed;
- share spam, advertising, or political campaigning;
- post another person's personal information, such as a phone number or address, without their consent;
- attempt to access accounts or data that are not yours, probe or disrupt the service, or use automated tools against it; or
- use the visitor log for anything other than a society's genuine security and entry management.
Officers can moderate content in their society, and we may remove content or suspend an account that breaks these rules or the law. You can report a discussion, comment, complaint or chat message from the app, and block a member you do not want to see.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of what you post. You give OneRoof and your society the right to store, display and share it inside the app as needed to run the service and the society's records, and you confirm that you have the right to post it. Content you post may remain visible to your society after you leave or delete your account, shown under the name "Deleted user", as described in the Privacy Policy.
6. Visitors and other people's information
If you log a visitor or add a family member, you are responsible for having a proper reason to record their details, for recording only what is needed, and for telling the person where appropriate. Gate staff and officers who use the visitor features have the same responsibility.
7. Payments tracking
OneRoof helps societies track dues and residents show proof of payment. It does not collect, hold or transfer money, and it is not a bank or payment service. Payments are made directly between you and your society using your own UPI or banking app. A dispute about an amount, a receipt or a payment belongs between you and your society. A payment status shown in the app is only as accurate as the information entered by residents and the officers who verify it.
8. Not an emergency or security service
OneRoof is not an emergency, safety or security service. Do not rely on it in an emergency. Call the police, fire service or ambulance directly. Visitor approvals depend on residents and gate staff, and we cannot guarantee that every entry is checked or every notification is seen.
9. Societies and agreements
A society that signs up to OneRoof does so under the commercial terms agreed with us, which may include a subscription. The officers who set up a society confirm that they have the authority to act for it.
10. Availability and changes
We work to keep the service running but do not promise it will always be available, uninterrupted or free of errors. We may improve, change or remove features, and we will try to give notice of significant changes. You may need to update the app to keep using it.
11. Ending your use
You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, put others at risk, or if the law requires. Sections that by their nature should continue, such as those on content, liability and governing law, continue after your access ends.
12. Our rights
OneRoof, its name, logo, design and software belong to us or our licensors. These terms give you a personal, non-transferable right to use the app as intended, and no other rights in it. You may not copy, reverse engineer or resell it, except where the law allows.
13. Liability
The service is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, OneRoof is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for content posted by users, for disputes between residents or between residents and their society, or for loss caused by events outside our reasonable control. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the fees, if any, you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes will be heard by the courts of competent jurisdiction in India. Before going to court, please contact us so we can try to put things right.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app. Continuing to use OneRoof after a change means you accept it.
